Mt. Lemmon Picnic
Come join us for our annual Mt. Lemmon club picnic!
*UPDATE: Will those who took pictures please send them to me? I'd love to get them up for viewing.
With temperatures an average 15 degrees cooler on the mountain, hamburgers/hot dogs provided by the Club, games and good company, you don't have an excuse not to go. Bring the family!
Where: Bear Canyon Picnic Area. Head straight up Mt. Lemmon highway and it's on the left between mile posts 10 and 11. CCCT banners will be up at the entrance. Refer to this map.
When: Most folks will be arriving at the picnic area around 10:00am. Several will meet at the McDonalds on Tanque Verde & Catalina Highway around 9:00 to cruise up together. We usually finish and clean up around 2-3pm.
What to bring: Bring a side dish or dessert. Main munchies and condiments will be provided by the Club. The grillmasters (Ray, Rick, Gary, Phil, whoever feels important enough to hang around the grill and breathe smoke) will be in charge of not dropping the dogs in the coals as usual. Bring chairs - there are many trees with lots of shade and some concrete tables and non-plumbing restrooms on-site.
Parking passes are $5 per day and can be purchased in town or on the way up the mountain at the toll booth. Also bring games to play and shoes to walk in since the wash is dry and a nice, easy hike. We'll see you there!
